Combining GORE-TEX 50D and 75D fabrics, an Alpine fit and Mountain HC Hood, the Makalu provides an ideal balance of waterproof protection, durability and weight for year round use.

Material
GORE-TEX - Garments engineered with GORE-TEX fabrics are durably waterproof and windproof, combined with optimised breathability. Gore's legendary "Guaranteed to Keep You Dry" and their exceptionally rigorous lab testing means that Gore-Tex fabrics can be relied on no matter how foul the weather is.

A closer look
The Mountain HC hood is fully adjustable and easily accommodates a helmet to you don't have to compromise on protection. The cleverly designed Stratum Storage system means that the two large hand and one Napoleon pockets have been redesigned and increased by 25%, providing a lot of useful space for bulky laminated maps, gloves or accessories.

Tailored to be close-fitting yet still able to accommodate layers, the Alpine fit focuses it's shaping between the waist and shoulders to help eradicate 'bagging' when lent over but effectively distribute the fabric between the front chest, rear shoulder and bicep to provide comfort and wide range of movement. Unlike a straight seam, the reversed camber centre front zip pulls the front half of the jacket in around the body and pre-shaped sleeves accommodates a full range of movement. Adjustable laminated cuffs and dual tether hem drawcord keep the weather out, and the two-way YKK moulded Aquaguard centre front zip minimises water entry.
