Rab started making down products 30 years ago and over that time we have cemented our position at the pinnacle of down product design and manufacturing.

We have worked closely with fabric and fill providers to create a technologically advanced range of down insulated product.

We now use a range of down quality fills along with a range of Pertex branded fabrics to provide an insulated product to suit all users and conditions.

The Microlight down products take their name from the Pertex fabrics used in all of them.

The Pertex Microlight range offers some of the softest and lightest fabric in our portfolio – essential when grams and ounces count.

Pertex Microlight is made from tightly woven yarns. When used in sleeping bags the dense weave will prevent excessive heat loss through the fabric. This will actually make the sleeping bag warmer without adding weight. Using 33 decitex/30 denier yarns, it is both downproof and windproof, water-repellent and durable.

Perfected during intensive research and development, Pertex Microlight has proved to be a very successful product and is used today in many insulated apparel and sleeping bags around the world.

30 Denier fabrics are used throughout and they offer lightweight durability and light weather resistance.
